Getting Ready for Nanowrimo
Hi! Now that my youngest is a year old, I can now hope to use Nanowrimo, or better known as November Writing Month, to finish off my stagnant story. Surely, if you are a ready, then you might have heard authors saying that they are/ are not joining the festivities. If you are thinking about joining, more the merrier, the writing community is always kind and helpful.
I have been gaming!
Unabashedly, I have finally gotten my copy of Final Fantasy 15, Buy from Amazon and I wanted to finish the game before starting Nanowrimo. With my gaming addiction, this is not my only aim. I still have head of writing to do, mainly for work. But I am sure that it counts in my word count as well, basically anything you right during the month of November counts.
Here is a snap pic of what FFXV from Amazon

Final Fantasy 15 review
First thing first, this is a beautiful game, but it is not as detailed or as realistic as many of the games you see in PS4 or Xbox One. Square Enix are good game developers, but they usually have better story lines and character development compared to killer graphics.
For a long time fan, I appreciate that all the research and focus is on the game and experience. It still has good graphics, and a view to boot. If you are in it for the game, this does not disappoint.
As this game is already “OLD” in gaming terms, I will not bore you with details of the game. Final Fantasy 15 is short, when you compare it with the older installments. This might actually be one of the shortest games if you want to breeze through.
No I did not “breeze” through, because I know that the game is tedious if you do not level up enough. Yes, grinding/ tanking is hard work, but it is worth it for a smoother story transition. The story also allows you to replay with all your weapons intact, so if you missed something you can always replay it.

Games and Nanowrimo
What does it have to do with Nanowrimo then?
FFXV has the best character development ever! It follows Noctis Lucis Caelum, and his Chancellor Ignis, Body guard Gladio, and best friend Prompto around the land of Lucis. There is actually a concurrent/ side story to this game. Kingsglaive *buy Amazon* is a movie that complements this story.
So you usually are in control of Noctis, as he and his team travel around. Noctis loves to fish, Ignis is the cook, Gladio loves camping, hence better survival skills, while Prompto is a decent photographer. See, character background already! The game actually lets you perform the skills, to make sure you know your characters better.
Then there is love interest Lunafreya, and enemies. Initially, you will be given Ravus, her brother to hate. But the enemy is someone else, look a red herring! The enemy too, has a solid backstory, and a very big gripe against the protagonist and the world. Look into his twisted mind, shudder at the thought of his evilness.
The game also sees Noctis’ character growth, from someone who is unsure about himself, to a King befitting his people. I love every minute of it, but the story is far from a game that you just walk around. FFXV is a gamer’s way of telling a complete and compelling story.
Verdict
If you need a good Nanowrimo inspiration, this game is one you should go check out. Fortunately, you do not have to play it if you do not want to. There are Wikipedia pages, and Youtube videos for you to check out. I played it for the characters, basically you can choose conversation prompts. Essentially, you can decide how Noctis should say at certain points, and earn points.
Aside from enjoying the game, I love learning how to write a better story through gaming. This is one game that I might keep coming back for more!

Nice. I will share with my son. He is the gamer in our home.
yeah he’s probably going to laugh though. suggest the latest Assassin creed instead. I believe it’s out (or in a few days anyway)
I have yet to get into gaming and I don’t know why. I really like the storytelling in the games. Will have to see if my cousin has tried this one yet.
Not sure, what does your cousin like? Role playing games are very time- hungry. My husband complains every time i get a new game though. =d on the other hand, I hardly watch television
